Polar Bears Come Up Short at Richland
|
The Richland Rails got a magnificent performance from pitcher Sammy Harmon, who muffled the Billings offense en route to a tight 2-1 Rails win at Rails Ballpark. Richland reliever Sammy Harmon was credited with the win, to go to 2-2. Daniel Riley took the loss for Billings. Even with the win, the Rails have a dismal 14-32 record.
The Rails beat the Polar Bears in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Júlio Madrid produced in the bottom of the fifth. Batting against Billings pitcher Daniel Riley, Madrid gave his team a 2-1 lead when he hit a solo home run.
"We take it day by day here," said Madrid, "and today was a good one for us."
