Thunder Hawks Prevail, 6-5, Over San Antonio
|
Benefiting from Shohei Otani's productive game, the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks downed the San Antonio BC, 6-5. Otani was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Thunder Hawks. Dan Porter picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Shawn Coleman was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was Seong-hyeon Pak, his 2nd.
Ft. Polk South grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Ruggiero Veneziano delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 6-5 in favor of the Thunder Hawks.
"Put this one in the bank," said Otani afterward.
Ft. Polk South is now 27-18.
