Victory Pushes Thunder Hawks Record to 25-17
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks got a strong performance from pitcher Brandon Franklin, who stymied the Asheville offense en route to a 5-2 win at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. In 7 innings, Franklin surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Gunnar Hoglund closed the game out for Ft. Polk South, earning his 5th save.
The Thunder Hawks got a big at-bat from third baseman Pedro Larate. For the game, Larate went 2-3 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 54th hit of the season gave Ft. Polk South a 3-2 lead.
