Nationals Come Back Late to Top Misfits
|
The Ottawa Nationals took Salem pitcher Ollie McDaniell's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Ricochets Ballpark. The final score had Ottawa getting past the Misfits, 4-2. McDaniell went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 7. Ottawa reliever Dong Zhào picked up the win to move to 2-1. Jagger Rusconi suffered the loss. Luis Soto earned the save for Ottawa, his 2nd.
In the top of the 8th, catcher Yang-joo Pak gave Ottawa the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Nationals had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out home run off Salem pitcher Jagger Rusconi changed that -- and Ottawa went on to win.
"It feels good to get this one," Pak told the Ottawa Herald.
Ottawa now owns a record of 12-28.
