Flores, Polar Bears Beat Nationals, 18-6
|
The Billings Polar Bears beat the Ottawa Nationals, 18-6, at The Igloo. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Pedro Flores, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. Roberto Roque earned the save for Billings, his 1st. With the win, Billings has a record of 25-13. Ottawa falls to 11-27.
Júlio Salazar put Billings in front, 6-2, when he took Kelby Henderson downtown. His 3-run home run came with two out in the bottom of the second. It was his 4th home run of the season.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Polar Bears manager Todd England. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
