Getting a good performance from third baseman Eustacio Tafalla, the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids defeated the D.C. Divided, 6-5. Tafalla went 4 for 6 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs for the Rainbow Mermaids. Northern Virginia reliever Keith Johnson was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Baker Mayfield. Northern Virginia currently is in last place in the Premier League at 29-43.

Late in the game, first baseman Zahid Kashani had a big at-bat for Northern Virginia. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring double off Baker Mayfield. The play gave the Rainbow Mermaids a 6-5 lead.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Kashani. "And not try to do too much."
