Thunder Hawks Roll to 8-3 Win Over Polar Bears
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks bested the Billings Polar Bears by a score of 8-3, with left fielder Yu Miao getting the main credit. On the day, Miao was 4-5 with 4 singles for the Thunder Hawks. Brandon Franklin got the win, improving to 3-2. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Ft. Polk South is now 15-11, Billings 17-9.
One of the key players for the Thunder Hawks was designated hitter Ruggiero Veneziano, who drilled a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the first inning. For the game, Veneziano went 2-5 with a triple and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
