Sixshooters Win at Ottawa, 8-5
|
The Westwood Sixshooters knocked off the Ottawa Nationals, 8-5, at Nationals Park. António Quintero, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Westwood won. The second baseman was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. José Blanco, credited with the win, is now 4-2. He allowed 5 runs on 5 hits in 6.2 innings. Christian Clayton closed the door for Westwood, picking up his 12th save of the year.
Oki Hai, who is rated as the 83rd best prospect by BNN, helped out the Westwood cause in the top of the sixth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 4 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Quintero.
The Sixshooters now have a mark of 15-10.
