Polar Bears Turn Back Virginia Beach, 2-0
|
The Billings Polar Bears took Virginia Beach pitcher Pedro López's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Virginia Beach Grounds. The final score had Billings getting past the Deuces, 2-0. López went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 6. Billings reliever José Meza was credited with the win, to go to 2-1. Pedro López took the loss for Virginia Beach. Tom King earned the save for Billings, his 3rd of the year.
Lynwood Dimartínez helped out the Billings cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Dimartínez.
Billings is off to a hot start at 13-6.
