Virginia Beach Wins 4-1 to Continue Red Hot Start
|
Virginia Beach Deuces starter John Wallbank was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Richland Rails, 4-1. The Deuces, now 14-4, have been on a roll in the early going.
Had Ray Covalt not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Covalt hit a 2-run double. That made the score 2-0, in favor of the Deuces.
Covalt told a Virginia Beach News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
