The Virginia Beach Deuces got a superb performance from pitcher Tao Zhou. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Richland. The Rails won the game, 5-2. In spite of the loss, Zhou was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. The save went to Davis Sawyer, his 1st this season. Richland is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 3rd in 16 games.

Had Hui-ying Sun not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Sun hit a 2-run double. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Rails.

"I thought we played a nice game," Sun told the Richland Daily. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
