Misfits Get Road Win, 7-3
|
The Salem Misfits topped the Belvedere Park Rawhides, 7-3, in M3L Double A action at Field of the Rawhides. The player of the game was Salem first baseman Gary Malone. Ollie McDaniell earned the win for Salem. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 9 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 2-1. Salem, now 12-3, has played well in the early going.
The Misfits got a big at-bat from right fielder Charles Basle. For the game, Basle was 2 for 5 with 2 singles. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 26th hit of the season gave Salem a 2-1 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Malone said.
