Knights Sneak Past 1837 BBC, 2-1
|
Kingston Township Knights starter Rikkarti Gudmundur pitched a strong game against the Houston 1837 BBC at Cloverdale Legion Park, leading the Knights to a 2-1 win. Ebby Calvin LaLoosh picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Alexis Zambaco was tagged with the loss. The Knights saw their win-loss record go to 43-62. At the same time, the 1837 BBC fell to 69-36.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when pinch hitter Ed Mellor, the six overall pick in the 2030 draft, got hit by a pitch. The Knights went on to win.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Gudmundur, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
