The Echo Park Lakers defeated the Panama City Piranhas, 6-0, in Menard's Third League action at LA Forum, with Echo Park pitcher Rusty Swanson named player of the game. Echo Park, at 49-56, sits in 7th place in the Third League.

Félix Romero had a big 2-run double for the Lakers in the bottom of the second inning. With Echo Park leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Harry Stuterberg and stroked the double to left. It was his 18th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lakers ahead, 3-0.

"Enjoyed this one," Romero told the Echo Park Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
