Dodgers Walk It Off for 37th Win of Season
|
The Brooklyn Dodgers picked up a win at Ebbetts Field, knocking off the Montana Pandas, 1-0. Starting pitcher Román Mejía played a key role in the triumph. Brooklyn, at 37-53, sits in 11th place in the Third League.
Late in the game, left fielder Ilkka Haapajarvi had a big at-bat for Brooklyn. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single off Hao Wei. The play gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead.
"The old adage is true," said Mejía. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
