Hori Dazzles in Charleston Win
|
The Charleston Battery picked up a win at Charleston Armory, knocking off the Echo Park Lakers, 5-1. Starting pitcher Kyuichi Hori, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Hiroaki Kouda notched his 9th save in 10 chances. The Battery own a robust 52-28 mark.
The Lakers had little chance against Hori, who overpowered Echo Park hitters and struck out 11.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Battery manager Matt Hunt, "I like our chances."
