Dominant Performance by Valenzuela in Greenville Win
|
Júlio Valenzuela never let the 1837 BBC get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the 84s to a 3-0 win. Brandeis Vogt, credited with the save, is now 13 for 16 in save opportunities. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Greenville.
Valenzuela was in the zone all game. He frustrated Houston hitters while giving the 84s 7 innings of quality work. Valenzuela threw 82 pitches, allowing 2 hits and getting 8 punchouts.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Valenzuela told reporters after the game.
