Cattlemen Prevail, 3-1, Over Kingston Township
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen picked up a win at Cloverdale Legion Park, knocking off the Kingston Township Knights, 3-1. Starting pitcher Zalontae Hillary played a key role in the triumph. Hillary, now 4-4, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Gojong Joseon, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 12th save.
Ft. Worth used the timely hitting of Jesús Morales to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cattlemen on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Hillary.
The Cattlemen now have a record of 34-36 with the win over Kingston Township.
