Piranhas Lose to 84s, 2-1
|
The Greenville 84s got a strong performance from pitcher Neil Franson, who stymied the Panama City offense en route to a 2-1 win at 84s Field. The Piranhas, now 28-39, have lost 4 in a row.
The 84s got a big at-bat from first baseman Doug Allerdale. For the game, Allerdale went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 16th home run of the season gave Greenville a 2-0 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Franson told reporters after the game.
