|
Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids starter Eric Matson was in fine form against the Chicago Gold Sox at Atlantica, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Northern Virginia bumps their record to 28-35 with the win.
The Rainbow Mermaids got a big at-bat from center fielder Ray Walker. For the game, Walker went 2 for 5 with a triple and a double. In the bottom of the tenth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 7th double of the season gave Northern Virginia a 3-2 lead.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Walker. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
