Victory Pushes Flamingos Record to 37-26
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the Toledo Stingers at Pacesetter Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Toddster Gordo, who captured player of the game honors. In 7.1 innings, Gordo surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs. The Flamingos bumped their record to 37-26 with this latest triumph.
Shihei Kichikawa, who is tied for 3rd in the PL in triples with 5, aided the Las Vegas cause with a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Kichikawa.
