Loss Extends Brooklyn Losing Streak
|
The Echo Park Lakers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Willie Dustice, who muffled the Brooklyn offense en route to a tight 2-1 Lakers win at LA Forum. The winning pitcher was Dustice, now 5-1. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 3. Brooklyn's current losing streak is now 6 games.
Manuel Guillama put Echo Park in front, 2-1, when he took Pablo De La Torre downtown. His 2-run home run came with two out in the bottom of the third. It was his 9th home run of the season.
"Runs were at a premium," said Echo Park manager Jordan Calhoun.
