Win Streak Now at 6 for Golden Cranes
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes beat the Jersey City Tritons, 8-5, at Jersey City Grounds. The Golden Cranes got a fine performance from second baseman Su-wu Xiao, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a double and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Santa Barbara reliever António Marés picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. Andrew Prieto was collared with the loss. Santa Barbara, at 8-2, is off to a blistering start.
Xiao had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the second, when he hit a 2-run double. The Golden Cranes went on to win.
"The vibe's good," said Santa Barbara manager Manuel Hernández. "We've got to keep it going."
