Halberds Lose 3-1 Decision to Lake Monsters
The Vermont Lake Monsters defeated the Alloway Halberds, 3-1, in USSL Triple A action at Ballpark of Alloway, with Vermont pitcher Rodas Aguilar named player of the game. The winning pitcher was Aguilar, now 9-4. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. The Lake Monsters have an impressive 68-34 record.

Ricardo Téllez was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Vermont. The 30-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Peter Glenn. It was his 72nd RBI of the season.
