Flamingos Walk It Off for 34th Win of Season
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos picked up a win at The Strip, knocking off the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 5-4. Starting pitcher Sy-ing Tah played a key role in the triumph. Las Vegas reliever Christian Mustard was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Scott William. Las Vegas is in third place in the Premier League with a record of 34-26.
Baldomero Avino was the walk-off hero for Las Vegas. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Flamingos first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Tah said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
