Flyers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Targaryens
|
The Pennsauken Flyers took Royse City pitcher Eugenio Piñeiro's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Pennsauken Park. The final score had Pennsauken getting past the Targaryens, 3-1. Piñeiro went 6.1 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 8. Manny Hernández notched his 8th save in 11 chances. The Flyers now have a mark of 34-60.
Had Raúl Moreno not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Moreno hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Flyers.
"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said Moreno.
