The Alloway Halberds did just enough to secure a 2-1 victory over the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves at Ballpark of Alloway. Nobody did more than pitcher Bob Browning, who captured player of the game honors. Cheung Lai converted his 4th save in 4 tries. Even with the win, the Halberds have a dismal 25-65 record.

Bass Reeves helped out the Alloway cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the third baseman was 1-3 with a walk.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Browning. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
