Brinkley turned a good effort from starter Gertjan van Hulst into a win over the Vermont Lake Monsters at Monster Field. The final score was 5-0. van Hulst picked up the win for Brinkley, going 8 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Belugas.
The Belugas got a big at-bat from right fielder Oscar Gandarilla. For the game, Gandarilla went 1 for 2 with a double and 2 walks. In the top of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Brinkley a 1-0 lead.
