Belugas Stymie Pennsauken, Take 4-1 Win
|
It was a fun time at Belugas Ballpark, where the Pennsauken Flyers and Brinkley Belugas tangled.
The Brinkley Belugas topped the Pennsauken Flyers by the score of 4-1, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Tony Ayala. Ayala went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk for the Belugas. Jon Dunn picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Dennis Bly was tagged with the loss. Sicnarf Loopstok converted his 8th save in 10 tries.
The Belugas got a big at-bat from first baseman Hyeon-cheong Kim. For the game, Kim was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 11th double of the season gave Brinkley a 2-0 lead.
In postgame comments to the Brinkley Gazette, Kim said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The Belugas improved to 40-43.
