Plymouth Rocks starter Arturo Gramer turned in a sterling performance against the Alloway Halberds, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Gramer, the winner, moves to 10-3. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up no walks. The slumping Halberds have lost 7 straight.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when third baseman Sidney Mackell drew a walk. The Rocks went on to win.

"We were in it," said Alloway manager Wes Murray. "We just didn't score enough runs."
