Reserves Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Brinkley
|
Athletic Club KC Reserves starter Wayne Slade pitched a strong game against the Brinkley Belugas at KC Reserve Stadium, leading the Reserves to a 6-4 win. Slade got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 7 hits and walked 4 over 6 innings. Slade allowed 3 earned runs. Ben Skelton was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
In the bottom of the 6th, third baseman Kwang-chih Feng gave Athletic Club KC the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Reserves had been trailing 4-3, but the two-out single off Brinkley pitcher Rafael Bernal changed that -- and Athletic Club KC went on to win.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Feng said.
The Reserves raised their record to 34-38.
