The Alloway Halberds got a stellar performance from pitcher Bob Browning, who handcuffed the Royse City offense en route to a 3-1 win at Ballpark of Alloway. Alloway reliever John Ball picked up the win, upping his record to 5-5. Shang-de Fu was saddled with the loss. Alloway now owns a record of 22-47.
Had Carlos De Jesús not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, De Jesús hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Halberds.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Alloway manager Wes Murray said.
