Belugas Come Up Short at Pennsauken
|
Gary Ashley pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Brinkley Belugas, despite Ashley's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Pennsauken Flyers at Pennsauken Park. Manny Benavides picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Gary Ashley was tagged with the loss. Pennsauken occupies 8th place in the Silver AAA at 27-41.
Dave Ash helped out the Pennsauken cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 3.
"We take it day by day here," said Ash, "and today was a good one for us."
