The Halberds faced a stiff challenge from Tremont pitcher Robert Smalls, but persevered to claim a win at Doubledays Stadium. The final score was 3-1. Smalls went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Alloway reliever Martin Besnier got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Robert Smalls was tagged with the loss. Cheung Lai was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Carlos Ávila was at the plate when Alloway scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Halberds to go in front, 3-1.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Alloway manager Wes Murray. "It's usually not just one thing."

The win puts the Halberds at 19-43, while the Doubledays drop to 30-32.
