Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Billy Dotson, the Portland Evergreens defeated the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 10-4. Dotson was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for the Evergreens. Reliever Ming-jiang Wu picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Doug Green took the loss.

Dotson had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the fifth, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Evergreens went on to win.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Dotson.
