Halberds Raise Rally Flag, Beat Royse City, 9-6
|
With right fielder Juan Salinas leading the charge, the Alloway Halberds defeated the Royse City Targaryens, 9-6, at Ballpark of Alloway. Salinas, who is tied for 2nd in the SAAA in triples with 4, was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Alloway is now 17-36. Royse City is 32-21.
Alloway took a 6-5 lead on Carlos De Jesús's 26th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which De Jesús hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Royse City pitcher Shunen Takahashi shaking his head.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Halberds manager Wes Murray. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
