Both teams had their chances, but the Brinkley Belugas eventually prevailed at Belugas Ballpark.

The Brinkley Belugas did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters at Belugas Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Gary Ashley, who captured player of the game honors. Brinkley has 3 straight wins, Vermont 3 straight losses.

Had Travis Towns not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases empty, Towns hit a solo home run. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Belugas.
