A nice crowd turned out to see the Vermont Lake Monsters and Alloway Halberds clash at Ballpark of Alloway.

Vermont catcher Sébastien Cornu was instrumental in his team's 14-3 win over the Alloway Halberds. Cornu, who is tied for 7th in the SAAA in runs scored with 34, went 3-4 with 4 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Lake Monsters. Vermont starter Ramón Martínez was credited with the win after throwing 115 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 7-2.

In the top of the fourth inning, shortstop Ricardo Téllez came through big-time for the Lake Monsters. With Vermont leading 5-2, he belted a grand slam home run.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Cornu.

The Lake Monsters improved to a lofty 33-13.
