Belugas Raise Rally Flag, Beat Tremont, 7-6

The Brinkley Belugas did just enough to sneak past the Tremont Doubledays, 7-6, at Doubledays Stadium. Brinkley third baseman Ronald Comejo earned player of the game honors. Brinkley reliever António Rúbio got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Vinny Mariani was tagged with the loss. Mark Valle earned his 4th save in 6 tries.
Comejo had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Vinny Mariani, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Belugas a 7-6 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Comejo.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Comejo.
Brinkley is now 23-23, Tremont 23-23.
