The Alloway Halberds defeated the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 6-2, in USSL Triple A action at Ballpark of Alloway, with Alloway pitcher Bob Browning named player of the game. In 9 innings, Browning surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs.

Manny Gonzáles had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fourth for Alloway. With runners on 1st and 3rd and the Halberds trailing 2-0, he hit a sacrifice fly.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Browning told reporters after the game.
