Lake Monsters Turn Back Royse City, 3-1
|
Vermont beat Royse City on the strength of starter Naozane Kobayashi's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. Tim Sandaele earned the save for Vermont, his 2nd of the year. The Lake Monsters improved to a lofty 28-12.
Gabe Cain, who is tied for 10th in the SAAA in RBI with 30, aided the Vermont cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the third. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 3. He drove in 2 runs.
Cain said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
