Behind a solid performance from catcher Sébastien Cornu, the Vermont Lake Monsters defeated the Alloway Halberds, 6-4. Cornu hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Lake Monsters. The save went to Mannus Dijkman, his 3rd this season. The Lake Monsters have an impressive 18-7 record.

Cornu contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Vermont in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-3, Cornu took a curveball from Pedro Adame and stroked the home run to right. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Lake Monsters to leap in front, 5-4.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Cornu.
