The Royse City Targaryens did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Athletic Club KC Reserves at KC Reserve Stadium. Nobody did more than third baseman Melvin Thomas, who captured player of the game honors. Shunen Takahashi picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Rafael Narváez was tagged with the loss. Enrique García got credit for the save for Royse City. It was his 4th of the year.
Miguel Herrera's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a fastball from Rafael Narváez for a run-scoring single. It put Royse City in front, 4-3.
"This was a good win," said Thomas.
The win leaves Royse City with a record of 8-7.
