Red-Hot Martínez Scorches Rocks
|
Ignacio Martínez of the Flyers was unstoppable in today's 8-7 victory over the Plymouth Rocks at Pennsauken Park. He battered them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Pennsauken designated hitter after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-6 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will."
Ignacio Martínez doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, grounded out in the 9th and hit an RBI double in the 11th.
