Zarate Hits 2 home runs in Halberds Win
|
The Alloway Halberds defeated the Tremont Doubledays, 15-4. Earning player of the game honors was first baseman José Zarate, who went 3-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 8. Bob Browning got the win, improving to 1-2. He worked 8.1 innings, giving up 4 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Alloway is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 4th win in 13 games.
Zarate had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the first, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Halberds went on to win.
