Hotspur Reserves Suffer 7-5 Loss to Doubledays

Tremont and Phoenix duked it out at Thunderbirds Stadium and the Doubledays came out victorious.
The Tremont Doubledays beat the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 7-5, at Thunderbirds Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Héctor Amaya, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. David Watkins, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Hotspur Reserves to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 5.
Dan Chrzan hit a 2-run triple off Tim Yoder in the top of the first, which put the Doubledays in front, 2-0. Chrzan had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Amaya told the Tremont Daily.
With the loss, Phoenix is 5-7.
