Big Day by Riseley Sparks Hotspur Reserves Win
The Phoenix Hotspur Reserves topped the Alloway Halberds by the score of 8-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Mare Riseley. Riseley went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Hotspur Reserves on the day. Larry Souder got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 6. Dennis Dunn, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.

Riseley had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Hotspur Reserves went on to win.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Riseley told the Phoenix Citizen.

With the win, Phoenix elevates its record to 3-0.
