Longnecks Knock Off Supernovas, 5-2

The Bloomington Longnecks topped the Scranton Supernovas, 5-2, in USPL Triple A action at Nuclear Stadium. The player of the game was Bloomington pitcher and Nanuet, New York native David Torres. Torres went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0. The Longnecks, now 4-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
The Longnecks got a big at-bat from first baseman Eun-bum Kim. For the game, Kim went 1 for 3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 3rd hit of the season gave Bloomington a 2-0 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Bloomington manager Decheng Sun.
