The Irving Blue Sox got a good effort from starter Zach Pinyerrel in defeating the Lannister United Lionhearts at Lionheart Field. The final score was 4-1. Pinyerrel, the winner, moves to 4-8. He threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up no walks. Irving is now 57-43.

The Blue Sox used some clutch hitting to beat the Lionhearts, a good example being the at-bat of Javier Sandoval in the top of the fifth. With two down, Sandoval gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he hit a 2-run home run.

"We put together a nice win," Sandoval said.
