|
The Boston Patriots defeated the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 4-2, in United States Premier League action at Dunkin Donuts Park, with Boston pitcher Natalino Golaio named player of the game. In 6 innings, Golaio surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Boston is now riding a 3-game win streak.
The Patriots got a big at-bat from catcher Adrián Gómez. For the game, Gómez went 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 32nd hit of the season gave Boston a 4-2 lead.
"It feels good to get this one," Golaio told the Boston Chronicle.
